Only a few hospitals in the world can ever claim to be at the level of accomplishment, achievement, and significance as the University of Chicago Medicine. Even fewer can claim to be affiliated with 12 Nobel Prize winners while maintaining their place as a perennial top-10 hospital in the US.
The foundational elements that comprise the University of Chicago Medicine - The University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, the University of Chicago Biological Sciences Division, and the University of Chicago Medical Center - and its staff, contributors, and stakeholders continue to make it their life’s work to improve the standard of care and quality of life for generations to come.
Such distinction is rewarded only by the most tangible, yet refined image. The imagery has to be reflected both inside the hallowed halls as well as adorned on their outside walls.
Luckily, they found an outdoor signage company in the Chicago Area up for the outside task.
University of Chicago Medicine LED Illuminated Channel Logos & Letters outdoor signage project
For this project, we were tasked to develop one set of LED illuminated channel logo & letters to be mounted to a sturdy steel frame and brackets. The project involved meticulous paint matching to keep with the brand and style guide.
Materials for the project included white face flex, logo and letter returns, retainer sides & faces, white Lexan, and trimcaps. For the lighting, we went with GE.
The Results: Esteemed Signage that signals both intelligence and compassion.
A heartfelt, “thank you,” goes out to the decision makers at the University of Chicago Medicine for allowing us to contribute to signifying the hard work, sacrifice, and diligence that has come to be expected of its approximately 900 physicians as well as everyone else who helps make the day-to-day as fluid as possible while maintaining a solid, nurturing long-term vision.
