Today we work with a lot of high tech solutions. Most of our signage projects involve LED technology: Message boards & marquees, custom & timed lighting, neon sign replacements, LEED certs… The list is pretty fantastic.
We love modern work. We Absolutely cherish each project. It's why we're here. But the further we go in the future, the more fresh-air incredible it is to us when we get a client asking for a vintage storefront sign. We say:
"Polish up the wrought iron. Shiny up the sheet metal. Sharpen those saws. Reel out the cables. We're making vintage storefront signs!"
Then we email back and forth with the client, making comps in Adobe software, but hey, we take vintage where we can get it.
There isn't a limit – zoning laws notwithstanding – on how vintage you can make your signage. If you want to mimic the wordless signs of old, a carved glass mug of beer or an extracted tooth on a wood slab like the first colonial signs, we can do that. If you want steampunk looks or Victorian flare, we can do that. We can provide examples, samples, pictures of our past projects, the works. Over the years we've done numerous storefront signs that are either completely vintage storefront or embody the spirit of classic, vintage, era-driven design.
We've done a lot with energy-efficient LED lighting technology. We've done a lot "true vintage," especially in and around Chicago, including no modern lighting technology whatsoever. The choice is yours.
