Examples of how we recycle outdoor signage into new signs
We often talk about how using recycled materials for your signage. Sometimes those materials are fabricated from recycled materials. Other times it is simply the parts of existing signs that can be re-used during its facelift. And, sometimes, it's both. Either way, customers seem to like the benefits that come from using recycled materials, be it because they like the cost, the reduction of their carbon footprint, or both.
Below are a couple examples of how we have used recycled materials to preserve integrity, lower cost, and reduce the carbon footprints of outdoor signs.
The Goodman Theatre in Chicago's theatre district.
The Goodman Theatre's classic red-letter vertical marquee can be seen in the heart of Chicago's Theatre district. Its majesty is witnessed by millions of theatre goers a year.
In May of 2016, the signage caught fire. It's top burned like a torch in the night.
Luckily, no one was hurt and no performances were canceled, but the sign needed repairs. Luckily, the sign's bones were in good shape. When we were tasked to upgrading the sign, we could use the original structure and mounting of the sign for much of the work. The recycling of salvageable materials not only saved on the cost of materials, it saves much of the sign's history, keeping its essential look and majesty for generations of theatre patrons.
